Initially launched in 1995, The Stokke® Sleepi™ is an evolving bed system designed to grow with your child from birth through early childhood. Thoughtfully shaped in its signature gentle oval form, it creates a safe, cozy environment that helps your baby feel secure and comforted. The design encourages healthy sleep routines while supporting your child’s natural development through each stage.
The Sleepi™ Mini is the first step in the Sleepi™ system. Compact and mobile, it can be easily moved from room to room, helping newborns remain near their caregivers during the early months. Its rounded silhouette resembles the protective feeling of the womb, offering babies a familiar and soothing sleeping space. The base is positioned high for easy access, as infants at this age cannot yet stand or climb.
As your baby grows, the Sleepi™ Mini can be expanded into the Sleepi™ Bed, providing a spacious and comfortable sleep area suitable well into toddlerhood. The base height can be lowered as needed to maintain safety once little ones begin to pull up or stand. The breathable structure promotes natural airflow around the child while maintaining a secure environment. For older toddlers gaining independence, one of the middle sections of the frame can be removed so the child can climb in and out on their own - encouraging confidence and autonomy. This is generally done around the 18-month mark, but all children have individual growth rates and it is up to the parent to decide.
Older versions of the Sleepi™ Bed can also be transformed into the Sleepi™ Junior, extending its lifespan even further. This previous final configuration offers a larger sleeping space that allows children to enjoy their familiar bed throughout their early years. Serving either as a safe low-to-the-ground bed or as a cozy daybed and lounging area, it remains a functional piece of furniture long after the toddler stage.
All configurations of the Stokke® Sleepi™ are constructed using sturdy wooden components and a perforated base to ensure optimal air circulation beneath the mattress. The characteristic oval design and the smooth, rounded wooden elements contribute to a calming atmosphere in the nursery or bedroom. As with all wooden furniture, the materials should be cared for according to guidelines and protected from excessive moisture. This in particular requires special attention whenever the mattress is washed, as the mattress must be completely dry before it is to be placed on the Sleepi plywood base again. If any residual moisture remains, it will not be able to dry properly, creating a risk of molding within the mattress. The warranty does not cover such mistakes.
A range of accessories is available to complement the Sleepi™ system, helping to enhance both comfort and practicality. These include drape rods, canopies, fitted sheets, protection sheets and breathable liners, each designed to integrate seamlessly with the bed’s unique shape and support a cozy sleeping environment.
