The Stokke® Xplory® is one of Stokke’s most recognizable and influential designs, first launched in 2003 with the purpose of redefining the parent–child strolling experience. Unlike traditional strollers that keep children lower to the ground, the Xplory® was intentionally engineered to bring children closer to their parents, encouraging interaction, communication and a stronger sense of connection during everyday routines. Over the years, the stroller has continued to evolve, maintaining its iconic silhouette while incorporating modern materials, improved comfort and refined functionality.
A defining feature of the Xplory® is its elevated, height‑adjustable seat, which allows parents to position their child at a level that supports bonding and visibility. Combined with a reversible seat offering both parent‑facing and outward‑facing positions, the stroller adapts smoothly to the developmental stages of the child. The seat offers multiple recline angles, enabling upright exploration, comfortable relaxation, or restful sleep as needed.
The Xplory® also ensures a smooth ride through urban landscapes, while also offering a swivel lock feature on the front wheels to allow passage through difficult terrain such as snow without the wheels getting stuck. The handle adjusts to various heights, allowing parents of different statures to stroll comfortably. These thoughtful ergonomic principles make the stroller as intuitive for parents to use as it is comfortable for children to ride in.
To support newborns, the Stokke® Xplory® can be used with the Xplory® Carry Cot, which is suitable from birth until around 6 months or up to 9 kg / 20 lbs. The carry cot includes a firm, supportive mattress and soft interior textiles, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment during an infant’s first months. While most of the textiles of the Carry Cot are removable, the outer textiles are not.
The Stokke® Xplory® seat may be used when the child is at least 6 months old, up until they are approximately 3-4 years old. Limitations for the seat technically not set by age, but rather by the child's height and weight, as the seat is designed to hold up to 22 kg / 48,5 lbs. The seat fabrics are fully removable, though some zippers do not come with pull tabs and require a paper clip to temporarily be threaded through to allow for removal for washing purposes. Pull tabs are removed on zippers within the child's reach to ensure that no shiny dangling parts could be played with for safety reasons.
The seat rail, which is to be used on both the Seat and Carry Cot, also comes with a child lock which users often do not realize. For safety reasons, the buttons that release the seat rail cannot be pressed with ease - instead, the entire seat rail must be pressed downwards by the parent so that the buttons can be pressed and released from the Seat and Carry Cot shell. Negligent usage of the seat rail, such as ignoring the child lock and applying force on the buttons without pressing it down as shown in the User Guide, could lead to breaking this mechanism and this would not be covered by warranty.
Stokke® has also developed a wide range of accessories to enhance the stroller’s usability across seasons and situations. These include a warm, water‑repellent footmuff; breathable summer cover; protective rain cover and mosquito net; a shopping bag positioned low for stability; and various storage and comfort accessories. A sibling board is available for older children who want to ride along, and car seat adapters allow compatibility with several third‑party infant car seats, giving families flexibility from day one. Availability of such accessories is subject to availability. In case some of these can no longer be found on the website, it is possible they are no longer available.
