The Stokke® Sleepi™ has 4 different heights for the plywood base. These plywood heights (when used with the wheels attached) in a descending order are:
- 44 cm (Mini) / 43 cm (Bed)
- 38 cm (Mini) / 37 cm (Bed)
- 22 cm (Mini) / 21 cm (Bed)
- 16 cm (Mini) / 15 cm (Bed)
The reason the Mini is always 1 cm higher is due to the usage of the Wheel brackets which are only meant for the Mini. These brackets should always be removed when transitioning to the Bed to ensure that the Bed does not damaged from incorrect assembly.
Removing the wheels will reduce the total height of each configuration by 7 cm (8 cm for Mini due to the additional removal of metal brackets).
When using a mattress that has a thickness of approximately 8 cm, the distance from the mattress surface to the top of the bed in each setting would be:
- 31 cm
- 37 cm
- 53 cm
- 59 cm
Although the Mini can be assembled at all 4 heights, only the first height is actually recommended for the Mini. The Mini is not meant to be used at any lower heights, as 6-month olds are not able to climb out and it is more convenient for both the child and parent to be as elevated as possible. The Bed should gradually be lowered to ensure the child is unable to climb out, once they become capable of potentially doing so.
