The YOYO® collection has long been celebrated for redefining what a lightweight, compact stroller can offer. First introduced in 2012, the YOYO® became a global favourite among travelling families due to its exceptional portability and clever engineering. Its design philosophy centres around one idea: a stroller should adapt to modern urban life, not the other way around. With its instantly recognisable fold and minimalist frame, the YOYO® set a new benchmark for convenience, functionality and style.
A key strength of the YOYO® collection is its ultra‑compact, one‑hand fold, which collapses into a shape small enough to meet most airlines’ cabin‑luggage requirements. Measuring just 52 × 44 × 18 cm when folded and weighing as little as 6.2 kg depending on the configuration, the stroller became synonymous with effortless mobility. Whether navigating busy streets, boarding a plane or storing it in a small apartment, the YOYO® offers a simplicity that supports parents on the move. Its comfortable shoulder strap allows the folded stroller to be carried like a bag, reinforcing the ease and independence it brings to daily outings. That being said, the YOYO® might not be the best option for taller parents, as it does not have the same type of handle bar adjustability like the Xplory® does.
The YOYO® was originally a part of the BABYZEN™ family until both BABYZEN™ and YOYO® joined Stokke® in 2022, leading slowly to the launch of a newer YOYO® version under the united Stokke® brand in 2024.
All versions of the YOYO® system are built around frame modularity. Parents can choose among several seat pack options that adapt to children’s developmental stages:
- 0-6 months:
- The 0+ Newborn Pack creates a soft, fully flat, parent‑facing environment suitable from birth, prioritizing closeness and ergonomic support. The YOYO® can be folded with these textiles.
- The Bassinet, also known as the Newborn Shell, provides a more structured, ventilated space with a firm mattress, while still keeping the stroller exceptionally light. The YOYO® cannot be folded while the Bassinet is attached - it must first be removed before folding is possible. This newborn option is not available globally, such as in Canada and US, due to certain local regulations,
- 6+ months:
- Once the child is older, the 6+ Color Pack offers an outward‑facing seat with multi‑position recline (between 118-145 degrees), providing comfort for toddlers up to approximately 22 kg depending on regional regulations. The YOYO® can be folded with these textiles.
When purchasing the YOYO®, it also arrives with a few components which you will need for some of the above solutions:
- 6+ Base Fabrics & 6+ Canopy Wires - these two are needed to set up your 6+ Color Pack. The 6+ Base Fabrics comes with an integrated harness which must be paired with the seat pad found within the 6+ Color Pack. Similarly, the 6+ Canopy Wires create the structure for the canopy found within the 6+ Color Pack. It is not possible to set up the 6+ Color Pack without either of these essential parts which arrive with your YOYO® frame
- Reversible Backrest - this component is required for both the 6+ Color Pack to act as an adjustable backrest, as well as for the 0+ Newborn Pack, to create a base for the textiles to secure to. Note that the Reversible Backrest is called reversible, because it can be attached in both directions, depending on which configuration you are setting up on your frame. Note that the reversible backrest only comes with one white button - on the other side there is a black plastic pin that slots into the frame, so that the other side can be locked in with the white button.
Please note that when you purchase the YOYO® frame with the intent to eventually use it with the 6+ Color Pack or the 0+ Newborn Pack, you must make sure you do not lose these essential components, as they may seem unimportant to you at first when you first unpack your frame. However, claims for these parts being missing will not be accepted if your YOYO® frame has been purchased several months ago, as we must assume that these have been misplaced out of neligence.
The YOYO® has an ecosystem of compatible accessories designed by Stokke® and BABYZEN™ and these are the only accessories that are to be used with the YOYO®. The YOYO® is not meant to be used with any 3rd party accessories, such as seat rails, hooks from the handle (which are often used to hang handbags), or other items that have not been thoroughly tested and approved in order to be sold by Stokke®. Attaching such items is strictly prohibited, as also mentioned in the User Guide. Ignoring such warnings can either cause permanent damage to the product, including unusual noises from hanging 3rd party items on the handle, or these may obstruct the folding and unfolding sequence. Such damage is not covered by warranty.
