The YOYO® collection includes several accessories which can be used with either the YOYO® frame or the YOYO® Connect frame. The YOYO® should only ever be fitted with accessories and items designed by Stokke®. The YOYO® is not meant to be used with any 3rd party accessories, such as seat rails, hooks from the handle (which are often used to hang handbags), or other items that have not been thoroughly tested and approved in order to be sold by Stokke®. Attaching such items is strictly prohibited, as also mentioned in the User Guide. Ignoring such warnings can either cause permanent damage to the product, including scratches or unusual noises from hanging 3rd party items on the handle. Such accessories may also obstruct the folding and unfolding sequence. Damage caused by attaching 3rd party accessories not covered by warranty.
Here's a breakdown of everything that can safely be used with the YOYO® frame:
- YOYO® Connect frame - an additional frame to use with a second child, whether it's for twins or for kids with a small age gap.
- Basssinet, also known as the Newborn Shell - A firmly structured shell with 2 mattresses for babies between 0-6 months, but not available globally due to certain market restrictions, such as in the US and Canada.
- Please note that the Bassinet comes with Bassinet Adaptors which can be used with the regular YOYO® frame. If you are looking to use the Bassinet on the YOYO® Connect frame, you would need to purchase the Connect Bassinet Adaptors, as you cannot use the default Bassinet Adaptors on the YOYO® Connect.
- 0+ Newborn Pack - a soft cocoon with a removable foot cover for babies between 0-6 months. The removable cover makes it a viable option all-year-round in different climates.
- 6+ Color Pack - the classic YOYO® experience for children between 6-36 months, allowing the child to sit back and enjoy the ride with the adjustable backrest.
- Note that the user must ensure that they have not thrown away the 6+ Base Fabrics, the 6+ Canopy Wires and Reversible Backrest components which arrived with the purchase of the YOYO® frame, because the 6+ Color Pack only comes with 2 textile pieces (canopy and seat pad) which must be combined with the other parts that came with the purchase of the frame itself. Claims for missing items after several months of purchase will not be accepted, as these parts are known to be misplaced and lost by the user when they are not immediately needed for the newborn options listed above.
- Car Seat Adaptors - if you are looking to attach a non-Stokke® car seat to your YOYO® frame, you would need to purchase the Car Seat Adaptors. If you have purchased the official car seat from Stokke®, these already come with the required adapators. When purchasing a non-Stokke® car seat, it is important to check the compatibility list of car seats which can be attached using the adaptors. Depending on the region, we have an M-size or an L-size available, to cater to the different regulatory standards and standard sizes of car seats and adaptor mechanisms. If the car seat you are looking to use is not listed on our compatibility list, please know that we are not hiding any information and Customer Service is not able to assist with anything that's not on our compatibility list. You may always assume that the car seat you are looking for is not on the list because it was:
- Tested & not compatible
- Tested & physically fits, but not approved because of various safety issues or due to scratches and/or other damage caused to the frame or car seat during regular usage
- Not yet tested because it is too new
- Board - if you do not wish to use the YOYO® Connect frame as a sibling solution, it would be possible to use the Board instead. This accessory allows a child to either be seated or stand on the Board, which attaches in the same rear location as the YOYO® Connect frame. When you do not wish to use it, you do not necessarily need to remove it - it can be suspended using a strap so that it does not get in the way while walking. Note that a child using the Board will occupy the space that parents would normally use for walking and you may need to adjust your walking position while this is in use.
- Bag - this accessory can be used if you'd like to transport heavier or bulkier items which do not fit under the shopping basket of the YOYO® frame. The Bag uses the same location to attach as the YOYO® Connect frame and Board accessory. The Bag additionally secures its position using small hooks on the handle of the YOYO® frame.
- Leg Rest - if you are using the 6+ Color Pack, you have the choice of purchasing an additional accessory to extend the seat area a bit further so the child can stretch out their legs. The Leg Rest can also be folded downwards if there's no desire to use it, without having to ever remove it once it has been attached to the frame. Additionally, the Leg Rest does not get in the way of the folding mechanism.
- Parasol - this dynamic accessory can be attached at multiple locations on the frame and has two areas on the pole which allow it to be twisted in the direction that you need it in. The Parasol consists of two components - the adaptor and the Parasol itself. If you need to fold the frame, you can keep the adaptor attached to the frame, but the Parasol itself is too large to be folded with the frame. The Parasol can also be slotted in the Car Seat Adaptor and Bassinet attachment mechanisms, as you will find a small Parasol icon in the related areas.
- Cup Holder - similarly to the Parasol, the Cup Holder can be attached in various locations of the frame and it would be possible to attach multiple Cup Holders, so that one is used for the parent and one for the child. The Cup Holder can also be rotated when it's attached, which ensure that it can always be adjusted properly no matter where the Cup Holder is attached from.
- The Footmuff - if you are using the 6+ Color Pack during the winter in colder climates, the Footmuff is the perfect way to retain warmth and insulation. It interacts with the harness of the 6+ Base Fabrics to ensure the Footmuff remains securely attached in the seated position. It cannot be paired with the newborn solutions. Folding the frame with the Footmuff attached is possible, but it will not be quite as easy due to the additional thick layer of textile.
- Rain Cover - depending on the region, this may be quite an essential accessory to have, as it ensures the child and product textiles remain dry. It's important to note that the Rain Cover accessory is not a universal fit for the three configurations of the YOYO® frame. It is important that the correct one is purchased to avoid confusion during assembly. There is one Rain Cover accessory per configuration between the:
- Bassinet / Newborn Shell
- 0+ Newborn Pack
- 6+ Color Pack
- Mosquito Net - similarly to the Rain Cover, the Mosquito Net may be more relevant to some climates than others. However, the designs between the Rain Cover and Mosquito Net are nearly the same and there is not one universal fit, but again three different configurations. The correct one must be purchased to ensure the product can be properly used on the:
- Bassinet / Newborn Shell
- 0+ Newborn Pack
- 6+ Color Pack
- Mittens - these Mittens are extremely practical for walks in the winter cold, as they protect the parent's hands while they have their hands on the handlebar. The Mittens are designed to be left on the handlebar, as they wrap around and stay there using Velcro. These Mittens are likely compatible with any other stroller and not just the YOYO®, in case the YOYO® is merely used as a compact travel stroller.
- Skis - quite specific to certain regions, the Skis enable usage of the YOYO® frame on snowy terrain, as using wheels in several centimetres / inches of snow would be quite a challenge otherwise. Still, the Skis are only designed for the front wheels, as it is important that the brake mechanism on the rear legs remain functional and can still be applied if needed.
- Backpack - While the YOYO® frame itself can be folded and either carried over the shoulder or held from the central metal bar, it is also possible to carry it within the Backpack specifically designed for it. When packing the YOYO® frame into the Backpack, the central metal bar will still stick out at the top, which means the two original methods of carrying still remain possible, while also enabling carrying it as a Backpack.
