For the Tray to attach to your Tripp Trapp® Baby Set, there are 3 requirements:
- The Tripp Trapp® Baby Set version is V2 or higher (Tray will not attach to Baby Set V1).
- (The front rail plastic piece where the Baby Set attaches between the back laminates of the chair has a symbol that displays V2, V3 or V4. If no V symbol exists, it is likely a V1).
- The seat plate is in the highest position.
- Most imporantly: The seat plate depth must be centered within the chair, ideally at 7 cm, or just under 3 inches.
- Having the seat plate at any other depth (lower or higher) can either prevent the Tray from attaching properly or damage the chair.
Attempting to force the Tray to clip in at any other seat height can permanently damage the chair or Tray.
If the seat plate depth is less than 7 cm, or just under 3 inches, the Tray will either not clip in at all, or clip in briefly, only to detach itself seconds/minutes later from the excess tension from the incorrect setup.
If the seat plate depth is more than 7 cm, or just under 3 inches, it will cause the Tray to rest at an uneven, non-horizontal angle, causing it to tilt. Such an angle causes the top edge of the Tray to be pressed against the upper back laminate. During normal usage of the chair and accessories in such a setup, this incorrect setup will cause irreversible damage on the upper back laminate on both sides where the edge of the Tray normally rests.
The only way to resolve such damage is to replace the upper back laminate by purchasing a new one on the Stokke® website and to correct the seat plate setup to no more than 7 cm (just under 3 inches) during reassembly of the chair.
