The Stokke® iZi Go™ is a rear-facing infant car seat developed in collaboration with BeSafe®, a brand well known for its long-standing focus on child car safety. It is designed to provide a safe, comfortable, and practical travel solution for newborns and young babies, both in the car and when transitioning between car and stroller.
The Stokke® iZi Go™ can be used from birth up to a maximum weight of 13 kg, or until the child’s head or feet reach the edge of the seat, whichever comes first. This usually corresponds to approximately 12 months of age, although this will always vary depending on the size and growth rate of the individual child.
The Stokke® iZi Go™ is rear‑facing only, which is the safest position for infants and young babies in a car. Rear‑facing seating helps distribute crash forces more evenly across the child’s body and offers significantly better protection for the neck and spine compared to forward‑facing solutions.
The Stokke® iZi Go™ can be attached directly to most Stokke® strollers (except the Stokke® YOYO®), allowing parents to move the baby from car to stroller without waking them. No adaptors are required to attach this car seat. When attached to a stroller, the iZi Go™ should always be locked securely into place according to the stroller and adapter instructions.
The Stokke® iZi Go™ offers two installation methods, depending on customer preference and vehicle compatibility:
- Installation using the vehicle’s 3‑point seat belt
- Installation using a compatible ISOFIX base
Using an ISOFIX base reduces the risk of incorrect installation and offers a quicker, more convenient everyday setup for families who regularly use the car. When installing the seat with the vehicle seat belt, it is especially important to follow the instructions in the user guide carefully, ensuring the belt routing is correct and fully tensioned.
Regardless of installation method, the car seat should always be installed rear‑facing and never in a seating position where an active airbag is present.
The Stokke® iZi Go™ is equipped with a 5‑point safety harness, which secures the baby at the shoulders, hips, and crotch. Unlike older designs that require manual shoulder‑strap repositioning, the iZi Go™ features a simultaneous headrest and harness height adjustment. This allows caregivers to adjust both elements together as the child grows, ensuring the harness always sits correctly on the child’s shoulders.
It is important that the harness straps come straight over the shoulders or slightly below, and that they are snug enough that no slack remains once tightened. A correctly adjusted harness is essential for both safety and comfort.
For the smallest babies, the seat includes a newborn insert, which provides additional side support and helps position the baby correctly inside the shell. This insert is recommended when using the car seat from birth and can be removed gradually as the child grows and no longer requires the extra support.
The shell design, combined with soft padding and ergonomic shaping, helps ensure the baby remains comfortable during both short trips and longer journeys. Correct positioning also helps keep the baby’s airway open while resting or sleeping.
The seat is approved according to the ECE R44/04 safety standard, ensuring compliance with strict European safety requirements. Like all Stokke® products, it has undergone extensive physical testing to ensure it is capable of withstanding regular use when installed and used correctly.
