The Newborn Set is an accessory that enables the baby to join the dinner table, as it can be attached to the Tripp Trapp® backrest in two different positions, depending on how old the child is. The horizontal position is best used with babies that are 0-2 months old and the lower position may be used once the child reaches 2 months. There is no minimum age to use this product.
Please note that the horizontal position includes a locking mechanism which keeps the Newborn Set in this position - you will hear a click sound when it locks into the horizontal position when lifting it from the lower position. If you want to lower it from the locked horizontal position, simply use the trigger at the bottom, lift the Newborn Set up slightly to unlock the mechanism, and then lower it to the lower position. The lower position will not trigger any click sounds, as the weight of the child will keep it at the lower position.
There are colored indicators on the product that show you whether or not the Newborn Set is correctly attached. When it has been attached correctly, it will display the green color on both sides; if there is any sort of issue, it will show red, in which case, please reach out to Customer Service for further support.
The Newborn Set is designed to be used with babies that are up to 6 months old or weigh up to 9 kg / 20 lbs, whichever comes first. If the child reaches the weight limit before 6 months, there is nothing we are able to do and we would recommend to no longer use this accessory for safety reasons. In case this happens, it may be best to consult with your pediatrician on whether or not the child might be ready for independent seating prior to the recommended 6 month mark, since the child's readiness is rather an individual topic per child, as physical growth can happen at different rates.
The Newborn Set comes equipped with textiles, a 5-point harness and a toy hanger. There are no toys included, leaving the parent to decide whether or not to hang any of the child's toys from it.
The Newborn Set is no substitute for a child bed. If the child falls asleep, it may be best to bring the child to bed.
