Stokke® products are designed exclusively for smaller children. While some products in the Stokke® range can also be used by adults, the product design has always focused on the safety and comfort of the child as the utmost priority.
All Stokke® products have been tested not only for regional requirements, but also for the stricter internal safety requirements at Stokke®. Stokke® uses an internal RSL (Restricted Substance List) to prevent any lesser-known harmful substances from being present within its product range, even if no regional restrictions for such substances exist. By ensuring that the internal RSL remains far ahead of regional requirements, it allows Stokke® to not only guarantee the quality and safety of its product portfolio for its users, but also avoids the need for potential product revamps in case regional requirements were to become stricter.
While the RSL is an internal list which includes hundreds of substances added to the list over the years, there are a few more common substances which are very commonly asked about. Please note that our products are made without any of the below:
- PFAS
- BPA
- Phthalates
- Alkylphenols
- Azo dyes
Please note that Stokke® prefers not to use any flame retardants in its products and will avoid this whenever possible. If you have purchased a Stokke® product in the UK prior to November 2025 which includes textile parts that the child is in direct contact with, it has most likely been produced with flame retardants due to the strict local requirements up until November 2025. The products are safe to use and do not pose any harm to the child, though newer products for the UK market are now also produced without flame retardants, following the global standards at Stokke®.
